I read somewhere that TV ads still influence people the most, followed by internet ads, and I think third was magazine ads. I never really thought that ads influenced my thinking, but as I was in my full bathroom the other day, something hit me. I was looking at my bottle of Old Spice Body Wash (classic scented, ladies.) I then thought back about how I bought some Old Spice body spray (pure sport.)
See... I've never used Old Spice. For a long time, I just used bar soap and regular deodorant. Why did I ever start using Old Spice? Well, yes, it was the scent. I really love Old Spice classic. The marketing point for it is "If your grandfather didn't wear it, you wouldn't be here."
Then I remember why I did. It was this commercial:
You know, Bruce reminds me of me... I think I could pull this ad off rather nicely. Of course, you'd probably need to know me in real life. And damn... I love that coat he's wearing.
