Hey, the winners are in for all the brave folks who bared the quiz!
There were thirty questions, 15 by Tammy and 15 by yours truly. We gave all the contestants four hours, yet none of them managed to attain a perfect score. The contestants did do a remarkable job, none of them scoring under 20.
I do think that some of the contestants were hurting because I was looking for a specific answer to one question -- question 11. The question was, "Why can’t the Vatican, a sovereign country, sign the UN Human Rights Declaration?" The answer that I was looking for is that there is no freedom of religion in Vatican City.
Another question that posed a challege to some of the answerers was number 12 -- "What is the only nation that is completely landlocked by one other nation?" The answer I was looking for is Lesotho, which is 100% surrounded by South Africa.
I had overlooked that two other nations, Vatican City and San Marino, are also surrounded entirely by one other nation (Italy for both.) And for the last question, a trick question, "On Ze Baron’s Multiply page, his location is listed as Antarctica. If you ask him how it is in Antarctica, and he tells you it’s wonderful, except for the polar bear and penguin poop in the yard, how can you tell he doesn’t live there?" The answer was that polar bears live in the Arctic, and penguins in the Antarctic (north and south poles, respectively.) I'll have you folks know that what follows is entirely fake, in case you couldn't tell:
So, now, let's look at the winners! In first place, with twenty-eight out of thirty questions correct, we have FlyGirl! Congratulations. You win... a Pontiac Solstice Convertible!
In second place, with twenty-five questions each, have a tie between Beverly and Janeen! You each win... a crisp $20 bill!
In third place, we had another tie, with twenty-four questions each, Bill and Dave! They each win... a can of Mountain Dew!
Unfortunately, the prizes dramatically decline in value. Do you think we're able to run all these quizzes and give away all these virtual prizes with government money? No! We have to pay for these pictures ourselves! Greedy little kids...
Anyway, if you'd like a transcript of your quiz results, send me another email (arrow.of.day@gmail.com)
